History of...
Parker County Center of Hope
The ministry began in late 1997, under the name of "The Provision Center". They gave out food, clothing and household items to families in need from a location on North Main Street. The ministry struggled and fell into debt and hard times.
In 2002, under the new direction of Paula Fox and with the help of the Board of Directors, led by Janet Foster, the Center was able to either pay off or have all the outstanding debt forgiven. (The Center has never been in debt since then.) The Center operated from a former auto showroom near N. Denton St.
In January of 2003, Paula Robinson and Glenda Garrison became the new co-directors and in May the Board of Directors decided to change the name to the Parker County Center of Hope, Inc. to better reflect the heart of the ministry.
