Opportunity to serve.
Client Advisors - commit to one day a week from 9:45 am to 2:15 pm. Training is required to interview clients and help them with resources for their needs. Advisors also share the Gospel and pray with each client.
Bilingual Volunteer - same as above, but also help with other translation needs within the Center.
Receptionist - greet clients and other guests, answer telephone, assist with office needs.
Jobs for Life Team:
- Mentor – set appointments with clients to discuss life roadblocks that are keeping them from success
- Teacher – teach a life skill class, such as Computers, Financial Management, Smart Grocery Shopping, Parenting, or whatever your interest you have.
- Prayer Partner – commit to praying for students as they go through the program. Provide encouragement for them as well.
- Resume and Career Key – help clients develop employment tools
- Administrative volunteer – help with record keeping, homework, etc.
Computer Data Input – enter client information to the computer from 10 am to 2 pm. Manage paper files for Client Advisors.
Resource Coordinator – maintain list of resources for volunteers to assist clients. This can be done at home or at the Center. Must be able to attend volunteer trainings held once every quarter.
Grocery Assistant - help stock shelves and assist clients in selecting groceries. This is a very rewarding ministry as you have opportunity to visit with clients. Several volunteers are needed each day in the food pantry.
Center clean up – two or more volunteers, daily after closing hours to clean kitchen and dining room floors, empty trash, sweep client waiting area, and clean bathrooms.
Office Assistant -1 day or several days a week to answer the phone, greet visitors, and relay messages. Computer skills are a plus.
Angel Food Assistant - help take orders one Monday each month and complete the forms needed. Also help with distribution one Saturday each month. Several persons are needed to help on the one Saturday morning a month.
Prayer Volunteers – Receive prayer requests and pray with clients. This can be done at the Center or pick up requests and pray at home.
Computer teachers - monitor students taking online computer courses during a variety of hours. Teachers are also provided opportunities to mentor the students in life choices.
Storage Coordinator – catalog items in storage facility and match to client needs.
Drivers - pick up donated items from stores and individuals, assist with Food Bank pickups weekly.
Newsletter Assistant - be available one or two days per month to process Center of Hope newsletters for mailing.
Dining room support team - sit and visit with clients while they're eating to listen and minister to them, and to pray with them.
Grant Writer - assist Center Staff to research and complete applications for foundation and family grants to support COH ministries.
Fundraisers - Persons interested in raising money for the Center of Hope.
