Ministry Programs

Over the past eleven years of history, the Parker County Center of Hope has utilized several ministry programs to reach out to families in need and try to help improve their livelihood, as well as point them to the Lord of life.

As in the present, all of these ministry programs have relied upon Volunteer leadership and are volunteer-driven, for which we are eternally grateful. Here are the current programs being offered at one or both locations of Center of Hope.

New Beginnings

A transitional housing and lifestyle-change program. We assist families, mostly single moms with children, but also two-parent families and some singles, with costs for housing, childcare, education, and other expenses for 12-18 months or until they can become self-sufficient and on their own. Advisors and mentors help the families to discover not only a new plan for living, but a new Lord in charge of their lives.

Jobs for Life

Pursues its mission and vision by mobilizing churches and community-based organizations as Jobs for Life (JfL) sites. Each site is equipped with all the tools and processes necessary to provide job training and support to our country’s neediest citizens, lifting them from dependency to self-sufficiency. A 16-week course of instruction is provided, either in a group setting, or one-on-one.

GED

This is a high school diploma course taught by certified instructors in cooperation with the Aledo ISD and Weatherford College. Some applicants are also offered ESL training as a pre-requisite or corollary to the GED training.

Computer Classes

A cooperative effort among COH, North Central Texas Workforce Solutions, and Weatherford College. Classes of 10 persons are taught in a well-equipped computer lab at either COH location with curriculum and instructors provided by Weatherford College and individual enrolment facilitated through Workforce Solutions. MS Office Suite and QuickBooks are among the first courses to be offered.
