Ministry Programs

Over the past eleven years, Center of Hope has utilized several ministry programs to reach out to families in need help others break the cycle of poverty in Parker County. We have learned many lessons through the years about the offering the right kind of help to those who need financial or educational assistance.

In all of our ministry programs, Jesus Christ is at the center. We do not push Christianity on our clients, but we do offer Biblical principles and prayer to all who enter our doors.

This ministry relies upon Volunteers to be effective. Here are the current programs being offered at one or both locations of Center of Hope.

HOPE FOR TOMORROW PROGRAM

Jobs for Life

This 16-week course provides job preparedness training for individuals seeking employment. The course helps students complete a resume and gain insight into job areas that fit their skills and interests. This course is much more than a class; it becomes a support system and a "family" for the students. Through education, support, and faith, lives are changed.

Adult Basic Education

At our East Parker County location, classes are taught twice a week to help students gain basic skills is math and reading. Through these skills, students gain better employment or enroll in a GED certification class.

Computer Classes

A cooperative effort among Center of Hope and Weatherford College offers the class, Computer Skills for Business. These classes are taught in a well-equipped computer lab at Center of Hope with curriculum and instructors approved by Weatherford College.

Financial Management

Volunteers meet with clients one-on-one to help them make a budget and gain insight into wise spending habits.

CAMP HOPE PROGRAM

During the summer, volunteers go into neighborhoods throughout Parker County. Once a week from June-August, they teach children basic cooking skills and then send home groceries and recipes for them to make meals for themselves for the remainder of the week. We strive to feed children physically, emotionally, and physically.
